I have been on a teaching and leadership journey with Bellingham Public Schools for 14 years. Within that time, I have taught middle school language arts and social studies, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination, ELL (English Language Learners) and I am currently a TOSA (Teacher on Special Assignment).
I primarily work with students, teachers, and families to create school and classroom environments that meet the social, emotional and academic needs of all students, especially ELLs. I help facilitate professional development and the sharing of best practices with and among teachers. I am an advocate of increased collaboration and strive to create opportunities for teachers observe other teachers, work together, and reflect on their practice.
I am also 2014 Washington State Teacher of the Year. The Teacher of the Year experience has helped me expand my leadership role within my district, region, and state. I am available for consulting, teaching courses, and/or facilitating professional development. You can see additional resources and publications in the "coaching" page on my website.
